3:06 pm - Wild Honey ProtoGrove Gathering
On Saturday the 16 we will be gathering at the Westminster Duck Pond from 3-5. We'll be cleaning up the pond area, playing on the playground, generally just enjoying ourselves. Children are welcome but feeding the ducks is not allowed. Please do not bring snacks for the feathered ones.

If it rains, head to The Pour House on Westminster's Main St. Unfortunately, they don't have a playground, but they do have great coffee.

If you need directions let me know.

9:00 am - at work
hmmm. work. work has internet. :) couldn't conenct this morning, some modem issue.

happy bday rod. i know it's late, sorry. *hug*

had a great day yesterday. squirejoe took me to ikea and helped me find great curtains for my room. i picked up a 21 bottle wine rack for 5 bucks, some tea light holders in ogrgeous colors and afew odds and ends. I also picked up some wicker baskets for my bathroom organizational stuff, so that's all taken care of.

the wonderful coderat came over and hung the curtains with some help from joe and me getting in the way.

desperately need to get some more org stuff. need to hit walmart and pick up film and a coffee grinder and target for some other stuff.

afaik, toni is going to head over here and at 2 we're heading to the mva to finsih up registering the car. hopefully, i'll be driving myself back to work. if there's time, i want to go to the post office.

should get my stuff from crystal one night this week. i'm thinking towards the end of the week, just so i can get everything else as straight as i'm going to get it.

must get to grocery store. need a caller id phone.

before departing for virginia, squirejoe took me out to eat. it was wonderful. all i'd had was a bagel around noon, so i was starved. i got the filet mignon with a salmon filte. the salmon was delish and i want to copy it. the filet was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth.

after dinner, i set up my altar and played on the comp a bit. i really need a couple good statues for my altar. right now, there is a plethora of rocks. :)

thanks again to everyone who helped or sent happy thoughts my way for ease in the move. let's hope the dmv goes as smoothly as the move did.

*hugs*

1/1/05 Cleopatra was fluent in five languages.

1/2/05 Alfred Hitchcock's tombstone reads "I'm in on a plot."

1/3/05 Animal, of the Muppets, was inspired by drummer Mick Fleetwood.

2:29 pm - Help!
I'm doing a clean up of my lj, profile and friends settings.

My profile sucks. I really suck at writing about myself and summarizing who I am. If you want to write one for me, feel free. If I choose to use it, I'll give you credit in my profile.

Thanks!

10:51 am - eathquake/tsunami stuff
in thai, more tourists than locals died. (2:1)

of the 81,000 dead, a third of those are children.

but the supermodel has the headline.

as much as i think our population needs to be cut drastically by plague, natural disaster or war, this still hurts. just the knowledge of all those familes torn up in so many ways and the fact that so few people seem to care hurts.

i haven't donated anything or said any prayers or lit any candles. i don't know what good it will do. if i could go in person to help, i'd feel better. donating money is such an iffy thing though. how much goes to the administration of the charity? how much would acutally be used where needed?

anyway. i'm waiting to see how the repurcussions spread. people from as far away as switzerland are being affected by this reasonably localized event. thousands of tourists dead from all over the world.

it's funny, this has affected me much more than the whole wtc thing in in new york. i know it's dangerous to say, but i could've cared less. the us fucked with people and played polictics (still does) deciding who gets guns and help and who gets destroyed. is it any wonder we're so hated? i felt bad for all the ppl that died, don't get me wrong, but it didn't change my world any. if you understand the difference.

80k people killed by stupidity (living on a coast) and mother nature.

still cold as hell.

step one of the caramel brownies complete. prolly make the caramel topping in the morning, so they have plenty of time to cool.

a couple more gifts to wrap, then that's all done for tomorrow as well.

still crampy. i miss being on depo provera. ready for my insurance to kick in, so i can go on the pill.

think i'm going tohunt for the heating pad, then go to bed. work for two more days this week, then 4 days off. to camp or not to camp? do not want to sit moping around the house. do not want to crash anyone's christmas. *sigh* too bad i can't sleep for 4 days.

really looking forward to the new year party i'im invited to. should be pretty fun. and i'm dressing up. :)

yeah. some kind of painkiller. heating pad. bed. a massage would be divine. having mybelly rubbed always helped with cramps. jeez. last time that happened was a few years ago. definitely not my usual chipper self.

it's been kinda odd today, not being part of the witan lists. good, but odd.

9:15 am - Hear ye! Hear ye!
After much soul searching, prayer and meditation, I’ve decided to start a
grove in Carroll County. For years I organized events in the area but lacked
training and a supportive group of colleagues and friends. It was at the
height of this frustration that I found Highland Farms and CLG. Over the past
3 years, I’ve devoted quite a bit of my time and energy to CLG. In doing so, I
abandoned the work I was doing here. For the past year and a bit, I’ve been
pondering that action.

Over the same period, several folks have asked me repeatedly about starting a
local grove and hosting classes and rituals. I always told them I was too busy
with CLG to think about it. After the strain at CLG in the past 4 months, I’ve
had a lot of time to think about what I could do up here. There are things
I’ve learned from other groves in ADF, from CLG and CBG that I’d like to try.
The one other Carroll County group doesn’t seem to meet the needs of many
people in the county. I want to offer an alternative.

If you would be interested in helping with this, please reply. Right now, I don't want this crossposted. Thanks

10:58 am - drum circle
so. i've seen a few posts and talked to some people. all about a night of drumming and dancing.

if you have a place, offer it up.

if you wanna come: bring a drum or be ready to dance!

decide: winter or wait till spring? if i can find a warm dry stretch of december we could do that or we can wait a bit.

i'll organize, if there's enough interest. open this up to all- pagans, non pagans, fire spinners, belly dancers, whatever.

just so long as there are plenty of drummers!

5:21 pm - holiday meme update and public version
1) a car in good working order
2) a house or apartment
3) a gift certifiate to a good massage therapist. for at least 30 minutes. someone skilled at deep tissue
4) a new lj icon
5) a weekend away, expenses paid. with a bed. (this doesn't have to a be a hotel, it could just be a guestroom or whatever)
6) some essential oils- rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus, and comfrey top my list right now
7) a soak in a hot tub without a time limit
8) a gift certificate for this place: http://www.specialtybottle.com/
9) a gift certificate for www.babeland.com or www.goodvibes.com or something along those lines (neither of these are work safe)
10) a spa day. a day of being pampered. either by a coupla friends (or a dozen!) or via gift certificate. friends would be better i think, more fun. i want the works though- massage, hair stuff (maybe even a shampoo) some makeup tips and lessons, pedicure, manicure, maybe even some waxing or brow shaping. interspersed with movies, alcohol and food. pictures would be great to finish with. some tasteful nudes (god knows we have plenty of fabric for backgrounds and draping)would be nice, but so would some fun pics of the whole day. Basically, treat me like the goddess I am for a few hours. :)
11)a fantasy fulfilled- an invite only no clothing encouraged party (of 2 ppl? 5ppl? 10ppl? who knows!)- anything goes- no pressure- no repurcussions- no recriminations
12) a monitor for my computer

you can reply to this for contact info

wonder if i could call in sick one day? i have no clue how i'm going to get everything done for samhain in the next 8 days. (not counting friday next cause i'll have company. that's my emergency day.) does anyone want to help sew trim on some tabards? I can't pay cash, but I'll cook dinner or make your fave dessert. HELP!

IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 24 ACRES PER PERSON.

WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 4.5 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE ACRES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 3.4 PLANETS.

2:25 pm - another day
woke up, after a decent amount of sleep. of course, i was up till 3, so even my 8 hours put me up at 11. *shrug* it's better than sleeping 12-15 hours though.

i love jason, but damn, the girl he has over is just a little to fucking perky first thing in the morning. he wanted to cook breakfast for her (awww how sweet) and she babbled non stop. I could not drink my caffeine fast enough. And then when I finished my caffeine i couldn't get to the espresso machine to make more. *pout* eventually, he was finished and they went back to the living room.

made some scrubbing salts this morning. i smell yummy.

i'm very excited about working on studying the liturgy with a,c, and d. lmao, where's b? i just wish ruby hadn't gotten all stupid and another d had more time/interest. *sigh* oh well.

my skin feels sooo good right now. hmmm. don't mind me. need more caffeine.

looking forward to seeing friends on sunday. hoping there's no drama i can't avoid.

talked to kaelea yesterday and that was nice. we're both dealing with our own issues and haven't had the time/energy to keep up with our weekly phonecalls.

need lunch, having salad. looking forward to seeing toni tonight, as last night we rescheduled.

talked to terminix and turned down the outside sales job, he's going to give me a call monday about inside sales. Woot! Said he'll check what they're budgeted for. Could be a brush off, but i'm going to think positively and assume it isn't.

3:54 pm - uber frustrated
the interview went wonderfully. i think i made a great impression on Bill, the manager.

Unfortunately, the job he offered was for outside sales. Meaning I'd have to drive around Carroll Cty to 6 places a day, do on site inspections (looking for bugs) and work 3 saturdays a month. And go into the office at 7am.

The job Crystal and I thought he was hiring for was for inside sales and 2 saturdays a month working from 9-6 M-F with short days on saturdays and some fridays.

So, now i can hope that the chick they've talked about firing either quits or is fired soon.

Why does every job offer i get involve me needing to drive around all day????
